I own a Mid 2011 iMac and have just bought my first 2013 Macbook Air. I've been reading threads on different forums concerning faulty notebook macs and was wondering how many are in fact faulty compared to how many are sold. I feel i could have a faulty wifi in my macbook air but will need to use it a bit more to confirm. My iMac has never had any problems at all.

The Air has (imho) shitty wifi if you are on a 802.11n 5ghz network. Flip back to 2.4ghz or switch to the slower b/g network and things improve.

Maybe.

In the 4 air's I've had, only the 1st rev a didn't have flakey wifi. My two 11"s and current 13" have issues re-connecting to wifi from sleep and sometimes from reboot. I have to switch wifi off, wait 10-20 seconds and switch it back on again before it connects.

I think that the wifi thing is software based more than anything. I remember on my White Macbook it was perfect under Snow Leopard. However when I upgraded to Lion it had major issues in reconnecting to the wifi until 10.7.4.
