View Full Version : Best repairer in Melbourne?

My MBP has been randomly logging me out - it freezes and the login screen appears - for a while, so I took it to a reseller in the inner West but I'm not convinced they really know what they are doing.

They have been looking at it since Friday, trying to get it to crash, ie replicate the symptoms so they can investigate, but surely they only have to look at the Console log to see what caused each crash?? Is this correct?

Anyway, they have "run some diagnostics" and "software repairs" and can't find anything wrong, which seems odd as Adobe Bridge doesn't display previews properly - I have to zoom the window down until a preview displays, and then slowly zoom it up again until just before it 'freezes', so I can't have full screen previews. Bridge works fine on another MBP running off my SuperDuper backup, so its not the software.

Anyway, if they draw a blank, where is the best place in Melbourne to take it?

The Apple Store is probably the best place.

You can look at this yourself too, to get to the crash logs:
cd ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
ls -la
cat filenameofcrashlog.crash
