I know in OSX contacts you can not bulk edit but I thought I would try, for the first time, an Apple Script. Next year I am moving back to NZ, after 30yrs, and I wish to delete the international dialling code for my Kiwi contacts and add in the 0, then add the international dialling code for my Aussie contacts and drop the 0.

e.g.
kiwi international to kiwi local +647******* to 07*******
Aussie local to Aussie international 02******** to +612********

and also do similar for mobile phones (or cell phones as they call them in NZ)

Anybody know a bit of Apple Script that will do this?

Cheers

OSX 10.8.3
Contacts 7.1
AppleScript Editor 2.5.1

No Applescript answer. Except that the Contacts app does have Applescript support, so this should be possible.

But why? Calling +647*** from within NZ will still work. All my Australian numbers are in +614xxx format.

Exactly. This isn't required. I store all my numbers in e.164 (+1 for USA, +61 for AU etc) format.
