Hello MacTalk,

I deleted an unused [!] Admin account, however originally my daughters a/c must have been created with this Admin a/c.
Bought her a MBP, so no longer need her a/c on the Mac.
How can I delete her account and recover the space?

Thank you.

You should be able to delete the account while logged in as any other user that is an Admin user. Does your account have admin user rights?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm Admin to my and two other accounts.
However, trying to unlock my daughters account prefs requires a name and password, and I don't have any of these any more after
deleting the Admin over her account.

Try the name and password of one of the other admin accounts on the computer. As far as I know, any admin account should unlock the account preferences.

Best Wishes,
Steve

You are right; my basic mistake was to not have 'enable fast user switching' unchecked. Once I did I was able to delete the account.

Thanks for your help.
