Does anyone think that besides from the mactel portable laptops coming that they may add this transparent screen into the mix of things as well?

I would doubt they will but still cool none the less. Although from the comment its a fake but one of these days.

its a nice fake. computers can do wonderful things these days

only clear screens ive heard of is oled which doesnt require a backlight like LCD but for a 17" oled monitor you would be looking at a fortunes since its still in development

Wow, that's amazing - well, it would be if it wasn't the 648th time i've seen someone do a 'LOOK, I'VE GOT A SEE-THROUGH POWERBOOK SCREEN!!' mockup

I knew we'd seen something like this before, though only in pictures (http://forums.appletalk.com.au/index.php?showtopic=5814&hl=). I'm with it being a chromakey, as you can see the green edges in places on the screen.

Why would you want a transparent screen in your laptop? You'd spend your time looking at your knees. :)

Well I guess it would bring spying into the 21st century. Instead of a newspaper with two peep holes cut into it, they can know hide behind their laptop screen.

Although they would be buggered if the transparency went both ways.

I know it's a mockup.

Imagine doing photo editing and trying to get colours right. You'd need to bring along a piece of paper to stick to the back of the screen. ;)
