Its a bit plain. Maybe it will be just the monitor ( I see no CD rom on the screen). Maybe the iMac comes in two pieces ie a monitor and superdrive then a box/cube/sphere somewhere else. When is the expo? Is it broadcast?

How do big companies like Apple keep products secret. I know if I worked for Apple I would be tempted to let stuff leak. Hell if I lived in the town in Taiwan where they were assembled I would try my hardest get info or pictures.

(Two dreams in one seeing an Apple product early and being stealthy and spy like /que ALIAS theme song on my ipod)

The keynote will be at 6pm AEST tuesday, probably will be broadcast *somehow*.

I'd like to stress again: This picture is a hoax.

I believe those images were reported by Disko few days ago, http://forums.appletalk.com.au/index.php?s...indpost&p=11049 (http://forums.appletalk.com.au/index.php?showtopic=1323&view=findpost&p=11049)

Possibly the biggest clue to the bogus nature of the 'imac' images is the poor integration of the TFT screen and the casing. I cannot imagine that apple would have a recessed screen when the powerbooks are so beautifully done. Apple would produce a more polished product I believe.

Lucas. regarding your enquiry: "How do big companies like Apple keep products secret. I know if I worked for Apple I would be tempted to let stuff leak. Hell if I lived in the town in Taiwan where they were assembled I would try my hardest get info or pictures." Much the same way my employer maintains security. We ALL know what sackable offences are. We have all had to go to seminars on security and have had to sign agreements that we understand all these conditions and agree to abide by them. No signature, no job. Indiscretion equals unemployment. No 'ifs', no 'buts'. It's automatic. (For example: it would take me weeks to apply for authorization to take photos of my work area and then they would have to be cleared by senior management. I could just use a phone and take piccies on the sly but that just means it would take a little longer to lose my job)

haha, if you look closely you'll notice that the screen wouldn't fit in the box - it's too big :P

Nice try to whomever made it anyway

hey Hobart, I checked out the accompanying text (at the link you posted) with babel fish (should have done this first). This is what it said:

"With our opinion, c'est just a skilfully improved screen. To discuss it: http://forum.macbidouille.com/ [ MÓJ ] It seems that these photographs were posted in first on the AppleInsiders site. We acquired since the certainty qu'elles are false."

Babel fish isn't perfect but when it comes to foreign sites it's an easier alternative to learning another language.
