I use Mountain Lion's reopen windows upon startup option. When I do this I find that I get duplicates of my windows opening up. One of the duplicates is greyed out and has a spinning cog on it. The other window is fine. I can't close the greyed out windows as it is unresponsive. The only way to get rid of this duplicate is to close the associated program and reopen it. Upon reopening, everything is fine and works as it should.

I see this behaviour on all my machines with Mountain Lion. Never had a problem with Lion.

Anyone else experiencing this and know how to fix it?
Happens on my wife's machine as well.

When Shutting down uncheck the box to open windows on start up

But I want them to open on startup. It's the weird duplicates that I don't want.

Sorry Leon
Thought you wanted them closed never had it happen on my Imac running 10.8.2, i have often left one window open and then it never gave any probs
may be its one of the bugs Google it for you nothing came up, may start with one open then work up and see what happens
