anyone know of a Lion, actually probably needs to be Mountain Lion solution for marking commercials in EyeTV recordings? I was using etv-comskip for a while, but it didn't like Snow Leopard and it looks like the project has died.

I threw it on my Lion Mac - it installed ok, but was patchy about what it did (it managed to skip commercials - alas, it was the ads in Gruen Sweat)

I'd be interested to see if there was something better - however, I have a funny feeling that part of the issue is the way Australian FTA tv does adverts.

My understanding is that it worked by marking the "black screen" points - at the start and end of each set of commercials there is generally one screen of complete darkness. But as you've noted there are other occasions when there might be a bit of black screen and sometimes there's no black screen. I had it set to mark, but not delete the commercials. I would then do a quick run through to ensure that only commercials are marked (and if there was a big period with no adverts marked then I scan that for missed adverts). I'd then let it delete them.

But in Snow Leopard it started crashing, so I stopped using it.
