Hey guys,

I'm still getting used to my powerbook (tiger 10.4) and I am having
some really annoying problems with Firefox and the java that Gmail
uses.

Simple things don't work like the spell check and the auto complete
functionality when you type an email address into the "To:" box. From
what I believe these are all java run functions..

These functions worked fine on my Windows PC with Firefox... How can I
fix these problems on my MAC?

Cheers!

Run Software Update - there are a number of recent updates to Java that could fix up the problems you're encountering.

Are you using Firefox 1.5?

I have been since the beta and have never had any problems. Additionally, it will auto-update which also has not caused me any problems.

I am using firefox 1.07 and there are no updates currently available for it..

Perhaps I need to download some java software?...

is there a reason you cannot update your version of firefox to 1.5?

It wouldn't be Java related, possibly JavaScript related, in which case you should update your browser. I would suggest getting FireFox 1.5 RC3... otherwise why not try using Safari?
