I am new to macs and have just bought a new imac G5 and have just attempted a back up.
I have tried to back up my entire Home Folder onto a DVD but found it would not fit.So I stupidly removed the Library folder to the desktop to make more room but now all my bookmarks, mail settings, addresses etc have all been lost. The old library folder is still on the desktop, but a new Library has now appeared in the Home Folder and nothing I have done has been able to restore the old settings.
Can anyone help with this problem or am I doomed to start all over again!
Thanks javascript:emoticon('')

Move the old Library folder back into the home folder, and when prompted, tell it to Overwrite All.

One other thing, If you look in your home folder you'll see a folder called desktop. That is where the files on the desktop are stored. Your home folder would still be the same size (as you've only moved the library to another spot in your home folder), so you still won't be able to fit it on a DVD.
