Whats one thing that you wish they put in ios5?

I am so annoyed that there is still no on/off toggle bar to easily switch wifi, bluetooth, hotspot, and 3G data on and off, something like android has at the top of the notification screen

Well Notifications is hackable so maybe you'll be in luck. Personally I don't need those little toggles, but a nice solution couldn't go astray. The thing missing from iOS 5 at the moment is the next generation iPhone, how i'd love to get my hands on one with a good data plan (and little calling/messaging).

Fix the ability to connect to a card reader using the USB camera connection

I haven't got ios5. But word is that downloading new episodes of subscribed podcasts isn't very easy. Ideally, it would be like newsstand. Otherwise, like Instacast (which is also good). But then, wifi syncing should alleviate this if podcasts are automatically downloaded on the Mac.

Would be good if I am mistaken about this.

Call filtering. I.e being able to create a profile and limit calls from particular groups at certain times.

The ability to populate a large number of corporate iPhones with an app remotely, without requiring each iPhone to be synced with iTunes. Should be doable.

And the ability of apps to access files stored on a USB stick or similar ( probabily not likely given the icloud push)

Oh, and on nights of a full moon, the ability to call up unicorns.

Do a search for something called Afaria - YouTube - ‪Afaria demo by Jeff Schwartz, IT Manager at Sybase‬‏ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUvOb9if6fQ)

yeah, there's heaps. Afaria, MobileIron, McAfee EMM, Casper jsut to name a few. OTA app and profile delivery have been in iOS for a while now.

Well if that's the case I will settle for the unicorn app

You mean like on andriod? I very much dislike that, Android seems to like the swipe-in-weird-way gestures and I don't.

The ability to remove useless stock apps. On my iPhone I don't use Notes, Compass or Contacts. Nor will I use Reminders.

What I find annoying about this is some of the external tools have the ability to remove stock apps (or hide them) from your iOS so you can't see them, so I don't see why users shouldn't have this option

But... what do you use for your shopping list if you remove Notes??

For me these no feature I think would really improve my experience. I just wanted better notifications and tabs :D

Personally i'd like to replace Stocks with the ASX app, weather with PocketWeather and the mobile version of my website, notes I like and reminders will be useful so they can stay. The one thing i'm wanting is a 3g/ data only ipod touch/ iPhone, not one that makes standard calls, like the iPad only smaller.

For shopping lists I use pen and paper. For notes, there are so many more comprehensive options out there. I use Simplenote + Notational Velocity (creates txt files of my Simplenote notes on the Mac) but was using PlainText before that. My problem with the Notes app is there is no easy method of getting your notes in and out as plain text. Thus they feel they're stuck there, difficult to backup and like there's some weird abstraction between editing the notes and the rawness of the note files themselves.

I would also use a more fluid Calender app like Agenda or Calvetica if I could hide/delete the Calander icon.

For notes syncing I use it with gmail, they instantly appear on all my macs and make it a better reminder than just having it stored on my iPod.

I was hoping the new notifications centre would be more like lockinfo from cydia. Also, I agree with the original poster, after using sbsettings on a jailbroken phone it's a PITA to open settings for something like bluetooth. I was hoping that with iOS 5 I would no longer have to jailbreak my iPhone, but it appears I may have been wrong.

a sandboxed Documents.app that allows all other apps to utilize documents/files stored in that app (think how photography apps are able to access pictures stored in photoroll). from what is shown, iCloud still doesnt solve the issue of redundant duplicates/file sharing between apps.

I wish the ipod app would be updated so it's more vlc esque in terms of functionality, I mean for most people all we want to do is dump an avi in, and not have to go through all the conversions etc :( It's a shame VLC app got pulled.

Being able to skip app updates, or reverting to previous versions without having a badge on the App Store icon. Facebook is horrible these days, has been for the past 12 months, and continues to get worse with every update. Ditto Twitter. I dunno how Twitter is meant to be standard on iOS5 when the current app continuously takes 1 minute to try posting a post, then say it can't be posted, but there is a draft saved.
