Hi All,

I own some decent music DVDs and just wondering if it is possible to rip the music –sound only no picture- and write it to CD or iPod etc?

Cheers

well, that is completely illegal and I'm sure this site doesn't condone any sort of action like that.

on an unrelated matter, this is a great peice of software:

thanks euphospug, and sorry I didn't want to start a discussion on illegal practices.
I just thought if I am the owner then I can back up my DVDs the way I like.

Nope. Australian copyright law means that you can't reproduce anything digital unless it be for Educational, Reviewing, Copying by educational institutions, Copying by non-profit libraries or Copying by governments.

see: http://www.copyright.org.au/pdf/acc/InfoSheets/G026.pdf

Until this changes, even taping shows off the TV (including commercials) is illegal. Sucks, eh?

yeah, no worries about that. just covering asses all over the place.

it IS a wonderful peace of software though. great for reviewing your copy of your educational non-profit library review.
