They probably did a $1 debit to authorize. You'll get that back.

And find any 1st year accounting textbook and it'll tell you what debit/credits are (double entry book keeping).

As for the $300 I cannot explain that. Talk to them.

You can view details and it should have a timestamp and vendor/merchant.

Can't really tell much from that info.

I'd say you'd be better off talking to your bank about it

They already debited/allocated the money. You don't owe anything. It's a transaction history for a reason.

Take the advice of others, talk to CompNow if that is your most recent transaction or talk to your bank if you don't understand a bank statement (DR/CR).

Seriously, ring your bank or compnow because what you have posted tells us absolutely nothing

so what has happened? did i get scammed or something?

    $301 + $77 = $378.

Maybe the $77 will appear later when it gets processed since you only did it yesterday.
And the $301 being the previous payment to Comp Now.

It's a big maybe. If you want information, don't talk to us, talk to CompNow who requested payment and your bank/whatever for paying it.

A debit is a withdrawl from your account, a credit is a payment into your account.

Your online bank system will have a means for you to check individual transactions as an itemised list, so you should be able to determine who the payee was for the $301.

FWIW, if you bank with the Commonwealth, please be aware that there was a processing glitch that has affected over 200,000 account holders during a processing run overnight. You could have been affected.

Thanks for the heads up Brains, might just go check my CBA accounts…

Oh, and I like this line from the article:
"If they have been charged any fees such as overdrawn fees they can contact us and we will refund them," he said.
Why should people have to contact them? they should just fix it up anyway

    Okay, i figured it out

    i paid $378.95 to compnow...

commonwealth (i hope) charged me twice

so when i had $77, the $301 makes up to $378 (and the cents add up)

thank god- they will fix it overnight
