from the voice memo app on the iphone, just touch "share" and then email yourself the memo in .m4a format. you'd need appropriate software to play it back.

I'm having a similar problem except that my computer crashed and now I have all these voice memos I don't want to lose and need to sync to a computer my iphone no longer recognizes. My voice memos are also very large (45 minues to 1 hour) and I can't email them.

I was wondering which app you used to solve this issue and if you had any suggestions. Btw, I don't have a Mac. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

I relied on the Apple Voice Memo app for the first time today and of course one of my recordings (~50 mins) would not sync or play off my phone.

After much cursing and digging around the web and trying multiple no-good solutions suggested by everywhathisname, I finally found the kernel of gold on the Apple support board: https://discussions.apple.com/messag...sageID=9685350

I didn't use PhoneView, but bought DiskAid instead ($7 promo on MacUpdate Promo) - the dodgy file appeared in the 'Voice Memos' section with the same metadata as on the phone, but once transferred the .m4a file was zero KB and useless. So I went the long way through the directories instead to the place where 'Recordings' were stored and, sure enough, there was a .mov file with the same time tag as my recording. Transferred it across and breathed a massive sigh of relief. Day saved. Woohoo.

Thanks for the suggestion: it worked well. I downloaded diskaid, and registered the product ($9) with the educational licensing promo, and extracted two long voice recording files. They were extracted as .m4a files, which play beautifully on itunes. Thanks all for the follow up suggestions for those of us with files that are too big to "share" in the limiting way that iPhone allows.

Do you remember in which directory the recordings were saved? I have the exact problem. On the phone and on DiskAid is says 48 minutes, but it turns out that it is 0 kb when transferring it to my mac. And I cannot find the directory you are mentioning.
