I hope I get it before midday!

Work are turning a blind eye to my absence on Friday morning, but I simply must be there at 12:30pm, so leaving home at midday at latest. Fingers crossed! I may need to recruit a friend as a backup to be here for me.

Sydney has roughly 20% of Australia's population. Back of an envelope calculations suggest that there are 39000 iPads in the first batch being delivered on Friday.

I can't think of anything that's sold 1,000,000 units within 28 days of launch in a single market only. That's had as much rumour and speculation in the mainstream press as this. All eyes are on this. Or do you disagree and think it's insignificant in both scale and marketing?

Hell yeah, 39000 iPads (according to Greps estimates) sitting in a pile would be a SWEET pic!

I suggest a second shift that starts at 3pm for delivery to residential addresses...

So, now that I have found out that my lovely wife will not be home to sign for it what are the chances of me ringing TNT and getting them to hold at the depot for me seeing as I work a 2 min drive from it?

Hmmmm, I'm suddenly not feeling like my 6:30am delivery will happen (As per all other TNT delivered Apple products in the past). Might be almost 9am or later - stuff that!

As for the volumes in Sydney alone, assuming Sydney accounts for 20% (or less) of the orders, wow, that a first day delivery of 30,000 to 40,000 iPads across Australia, plus whats sold in the stores!

Hi, I have a question. Are the iPad's been sent to depots everywhere or are they just going to capital citys meaning those of us in major regional areas have to wait longer?

Hi, I have a question.. Can you please find my iPad and tell it that I love it and we'll be together soon?
And if you could sing Starship's 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' to it as well that would be great.
    Cheers

Default 7,800 iPads ready for delivery in Sydney

Does anyone know if it is okay to pick our iPads up from our depo if they aren't gonna be on time? I once picked up an iPod from a TNT depo in Laverton.

What's so silly about all this, is if they've had them for a while, why not just deliver some early so that they don't have to do them all at once? Why not say "delivered between 25-28 May"? Personally I don't mind if other people get theirs tomorrow, as long as I definitely get mine on Friday.

I'm sure those of us in CBD locations don't have much to worry about but for others it might be painful.

Another thought: Are we talking about 7800 ipads, or, 7800 packages? This may included separate packages like accessories etc, making the number of actual deliveries considerably less.
