    Default Safari crashing randomly

Safari has been crashing randomly on me and I haven't been able to establish a pattern. I have tried ensuring all other apps are closed but sometime it happens fairly often and sometimes not at all. Just before posting this, it crashed on me and I only had Mail open. Anyone else experiencing this?

There is a bug. Apple will admit to it when fixed I gather. It's a pain in gen 1 iPads like my wife's

Same problem here, very frustrating! Has been going on for a long time.

Yes be nice if they admitted to it. I have a bad feeling its like ios4 on the iphone3 if you do not like it buy a ipad2 or ipad3 when out.
You do wonder if they put bugs in old hardware for upgrades
If there was not enough memory in a iPad Gen 1 for ios5 be easier if they did not release it for the iPad 1.
They should let you downgrade your ios, or at least fix bugs and not bury their head in the sand and pretend thousands of people are not having the same problem. I like apple gear although sometimes the secrecy is really annoying.

I use about 4 browsers and they all crash (iPad1) with iOS 5xx.

    Not just browsers, many apps.

Shut down all apps and perform a full reset. Makes no difference.

I would feel better if the iPad1 was about 5 years old and the OS was able to be set to a previous version. But no.

    Arrogance, beyond their control, accidental?

Read a comment recently by a programmer that does apps for iOS and Android. iOS is harder to get right due to memory issues causing crashes. Charming OS.
