Default Unlock iPhone 4 on Three

    Hi,

Does anyone know how much Three charge to unlock the iPhone 4 and how long you have to wait after you get it. I'm considering upgrading my wife's phone, unlockingit and using it on Optus.

3 said explicitly told me that unlocking is free of charge when i upgraded over the phone. i got the unlocking requester over the phone on the very day i received my iPhone 4.

the unlocking process may take up to 48 hrs according to 3, but i restored my phone after 24 hrs (based on previous experience on 3G and 3GS) and it's already done!

they also ask that after 48 hours you have to put a non-3 SIM in the iPhone & then restore? Is this necessary?
Micro SIMs are hard to come by to use even for this purpose.

    I think you have misunderstood.

They say that you need to re-activate the phone when you put a sim from a different telco in it.

I've had it done to my 3G(S) and that's what they told me.

no it isn't necessary. iTunes will advice you if your phone has been unlocked. no dramas.

Ok. So each time you put another sim you have reactivate in iTunes? That doesn't sound right? Or is this just a once off and then any sim is good?
Definitely said Restore. I too have done 3G / 3GS unlock optus/3 but can't remember!

3 are pretty good, all they ask for is the imei number and its unlocked - free as well. Its better than the stories i here from people on the other telcos.

my brother contacted them ,but they said :"to unlock a phone costs 350sek(35 Euros). During the bindning period we dont't unlock phones.
A operator code can be ordered in a 3store or by customerservice (if you have an active account)"

In THREE UK it is possible to ulock iphone4 NOW ,I dont know why we
have to wait 2 years in THREE SWEDEN ? Costumer policy used to be the same in whole THREE EUROPE...

I can't wait 2 years to unlock íphone 4 ,i will pay even more than 35 euros to unlock it now.
    Is there any other way?
