Default Melbourne Midnight Telstra Shoppers - Which store are you going to?

I know this is a variation on the "Where are you lining up thread", but I am just interested in seeing where Melbourne peeps are going for midnight launches.

Just to be even more specific, which Telstra (t-life) stores.

    Vote away.

If I was to go, it would be the Melbourne Bourke St one (since I live nearby).

Still seriously debating if it is even worth it though.

Brrr, too cold. If I was going to get one I'd be getting it outright and probably order online from Apple.

Maybe a few of us should change plans and goto Port Melbourne or Sth Yarra instead of Bourke St...

Hmm. Have we confirmed if/when Doncaster management are letting people in?

I'm stuck with Melbourne or Chadstone. I'm on a Staff plan, and the only ones that can do things with that are the company owned stores, not the licensed ones (so the people at Port Melbourne told me). I'm sure the 'flagship' would have a decent stock (at least I hope).

^ Oh, I thought I'd read someplace that ALL TLife stores were franchised - if the city one is Telstra-owned, that's a good reason to go there

I dont believe ALL are franchised.

The staff at the Knox store told me they are Telstra owned, whereas the Box Hill and Rowville stores are definitely a franchise.

It must depend on the location and what Telstra's expected returns are for each store.

Interesting. I know that Chadstone and City are, but I didn't know about Knox

I just called the Doncaster T-Life store. They said to use the "Westpac / AusPost" entrance (off Williamsons Road) and that this will be open to allow you in all night.

They said that they have not been told how many phones they are getting yet

You can tell which TLife stores are Telstra Owned and which franchised by searching on the Telstra website:
    Telstra Shop Locator

The ones with an asterix have a note saying: "Telstra Licensed shop. Prices at Telstra Licensed Shops may differ to prices at Telstra Shops and Telstra Shop Online." - these are the franchised ones. All others are Telstra owned.

From a quick look it appears as though all the TLife stores in this poll (and probably all the ones opening at midnight I guess) are owned by Telstra.

Port Melbourne is *not* a company store.

Company stores include Chadstone and the Bourke Street store, and also I believe knox. The majority are not company owned but are licensed.

Camberwell store is NOT opening at midnight - 6am for them.

Don't ask me why this is but it's def 6am.

Also was told Bourke Street will have a large proportion of their allocated iPhone's, apparently more than 100 but couldn't get an exact number.

Got a call from them today confirming that they'll be open at midnight. Plus their name is on that PDF list of midnight launch stores.

Sounds like you're trying to deter people for some reason .

WTF? I called them AND went in store, spoke to 3 people (told all of them about it being midnight according to that PDF) and all told me 6am?

Hoping it is midnight, was planning that all along until I went in today, bloody idiots.

Anyone else want to confirm where they are headed to??

This whole "camberwell doesnt have a clue" discussion scares me.

Would the person going to Port Melbourne and Chapel Street (according to the poll) PM me? I'm going to be in the CBD and if there's no queue down at Port Melbourne, i'm happy to give a lift to some people to get in queue there if the one at T-Life in the city is long.

There may be gifts in store for anyone willing to co-operate

I'm flying out first thing in the morning and really want one in my hands before final boarding call (damn Apple why couldn't they have released it last friday!).
