Default How to Follow the 'Latest Creation' Event

So, Apple has announced they're holding another press event, but you're not a member of the press! How are you supposed to follow what's going on and see what new goodies Apple has for us?

Read this FAQ to find out.

Q: When is the Event being held?

A: On Wednesday the 27th of January, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

That equates to the following times on Thursday the 28th of January in Australia:

    2:00am in Western Australia
    3:30am in the Northern Territory
    4:30am in South Australia
    4:00am in Queensland
5:00am in New South Wales, ACT, Victoria & Tasmania

Q: Who will be delivering the presentation?

A: Apple hasn't officially announced who will be delivering the presentation, but with Steve Jobs back at work it's unlikely it will be anyone else. However, as with past events expect to see a couple of other Apple executives taking over for portions of the presentation.

Q: What is Apple going to announce at this event?

A: It just wouldn't be an Apple event if they told us this, would it? We don't know what Apple will be announcing, but the more reliable rumourmongers are saying that we'll finally be getting a look at the mythical Apple Tablet, possibly called the iSlate.

Since this event is occurring in place of Apple's usual MacWorld keynote, it's certainly possible we'll be seeing the usual yearly updates to the iLife and iWork suites, which were traditionally unveiled at MacWorld.

It's also been rumoured that Apple show off iPhone OS 4.0 and the new SDK, which is something Apple usually does in March, ahead of a June/July release. It's possible that an announcement of a tablet running the iPhone OS is responsible for pushing this forward two months.

Q: Will Apple stream the event live?

    A: No.

Q: Is there another way to follow the event live?

A: Yes, while Apple themselves doesn't offer the content of the event until after it has finished, many hard working bloggers and journalists post a continuous stream of short text updates about what is happening on stage in what is called a 'live blog'.

Places running live blogs for this event are:
    Engadget
    gdgt
    Gizmodo
and many others that I will add as links become available.

Q: Will Apple make a video of the event available?

    A: Yes.

While Apple hasn't actually announced plans to release a video of the keynote, they have released videos of every event for the last several years without announcing their intentions to do so ahead of time.

Q: When will they make the video available?

A: Videos are usually posted the afternoon of the event, which is about 12pm AEST.

Q: How can I get the event video when it is made available?

Once the video is made available, a link should appear on the front page of Apple.com and on Apple's events page.

Alternatively you can subscribe to the Apple Keynotes podcast (iTunes link) using iTunes. The event video should be added to the podcast feed around the same time it is posted to Apple's website.

If you are working, at school, or just want to watch the keynote spoiler-free, subscribe to the podcast and set it to refresh every hour, and it should be ready for you when you get home in the afternoon.

Could it be I finally got through to everyone? Or could it be that I just posted this in the wrong forum?

In other words, could a mod move this to the Apple Rumours/Events forum?

I have to work out where the mactalk live stream is... that should be in your FAQ Neoricen

Anyone know how much quota that will use. I'm thinking of driving to my parents very early while it's on - It's an hour and I need to go anyway, and this avoids peak hour for me. But my 500MB quota is limited... (I presume the iPhone can play the mactalk stream!?)
