Hello,
I'm currently overseas away from my usual mac mini and wondering what exactly will be "erased" when I sync my iPhone to a "foreign" computer. What I'm worried about losing are my photos/apps. I don't really care if I lose my music/videos or contacts as i have them backed up and should be easy to load again.
After i have connected and proceed to "Manually manage music and video" and hit apply:
This window pops up:
What will be gone after I hit the "Erase and Sync" button?
Thanks,
Nick.

Even if i have absolutely none of the sync boxes for: "photos, contact, music, applications" ticked? Sighh...is there a work around? I'm not sure I can go 2 whole months without music on my iPhone.
Helllpppp.
So why are you syncing at all? just charge it.

I didn't actually "Sync" anything just wanted to some new tunes on the phone, but unfortunately I couldn't lug around the MacMini during my travels. So i decided to "manually manage my music/video" with an mbp.
Anyways, I hit the "Sync and Erase" button and seeing as ALL my photos and apps were loaded from the phone and not from my iTunes at home they all stayed as according to;

Thanks.
i was going to start a new thread, but thought id ask here first.
Lets say I have 2 computers (imac + laptop) with one iphone. Is there any chance that I will be able to sync with both libraries. Given that both have the same address book, same music, same apps.
currently my home computer is the syncing computer. but I would like to have the option of syncing my iphone on the run with another laptop
A great and constant irritation for me is the complete lack of capacity to MERGE information and to have a choice about it. Can't imagine why Apple didn't think it was important.
From Apple's perspective, it gives them the opportunity to on-sell MobileMe.

which i already have, but being able to sync with 2 computers that i own should be the same. *imo* its kinda how we are allowed to authenticate 5 computers playing stuff from itunes store.
I am stuck on this one as well - I have only JUST set up my iphone and it is synced to my iMac but the mbp which we have been using as a portable computer when away from home does not have iCal or Address book set up.
Now that I have the iPhone, I want to sync the address book and calender on all three machines but don't want to lose any data - how do I do that?

Yeah - it seems like that might be the only option....... not sure how reliable it is though because I read (somewhere on this forum I think) that someone's data got deleted on one of the machines during a sync... that's scary.....
Still looking for other alternatives before that........ IF possible
