I know that you can Import SIM contacts onto the iPhone but I don't think you can do the reverse. Maybe there is an App Store app or if not then maybe an app on Cydia (Jailbreak).
I have an option to back up my SIM Card to the Optus network so I never lose my contacts, which is an awesome idea. However, all my contacts are on my iPhone, not the SIM Card..
Is there a way of copying my phone contacts to my SIM so they can be backed up?..
Thanks

As stevekicks said, it is much easier to sync them onto a computer, or onto Google, and then sync back. Of course, this sort of method almost guarantees you get an iPhone or something similar for ease of syncing![]()
exactly. what if one day I want to use a different phone?.. It will be hard to get the contacts over..
In saying that, can anyone actually answer my initial question, instead of telling me it isn't needed?
You can use iSync to get those contacts to a non-iPhone phone if you wanted to swap to one of those.

Hi guys, I have the same problem, I wanted to get my contacts from Iphone to PC, mobile me to be exact, and it wiped all my contacts!! All 187 of em, not to forget all the extra bits of info I had with each one. Why Apple will only sync one way, ie from Pc to Iphone is beyond me, I mean what happens if you buy an iphone, sync your old sim to the the new sim that has all the contacts in it, you then import those into your Iphone as well as new ones directly as you use the phone, then nearly loose your phone and say, gee it would be nice to sync those contacts to Mobile Me etc, and in the process you loose everything!!! Please explain why Apple will not sync from iphone to PC???? Anyone????
If you MobileMe it will sync the other way too.
I went through the same thing late last year, re wiped contacts
Assuming you are on MM. go to system preferences for MM then just find an older sync to restore from. That should put all your contacts back. Also helps if you have other PC that you use MM on. You can just go to the PC that has the contacts and sync from there.
Either use iSync on a Mac or the PC-Suite for Nokia/Samsung/Sony-Ericsson on a PC. Backing contacts up to a SIMcard is an antiquated method, as it only allows two records for a contact: Name and Number. You cannot store additional information such as email addresses, residential addresses, secondary contacts etc.
No you can not. Easiest way is to Backup to your computer using iTunes easiest and most sucre way.
