There is absolutely no need to get it replaced... You can buy cheap screens off Ebay an other apple repair sites! When you buy it call an Apple re seller or authorized repair place and ask them to instal it!
Its as easy as eating a pie! LOL.... Good luck!

There's a place in Cannington (Carousel Shopping Centre) that does repairs called Haiou Mobile Express. From looking at their business card they also have stores at Galleria, Midland Gate and Whitford City.

I was quoted $189 to replace the glass in my iphone. I presume they replace the glass and digitizer and retain your working LCD. Given that you can get the parts on ebay for about $80, I thought this price was reasonable given you don't have to risk damaging your iphone further by trying to pry it open yourself. I haven't used them though as my screen only has a small crack on the edge which I can live with (on my 12 month contract).

Take it to an "Apple", Apple store (as in Sydney, Chadstone, Chatswood) and ask about repairable damage options.

Do not go and stick a dodgy screen from ebay on it. A its hard and dangerous and B you will void your warranty

I found a site that might help you - it is called ipodjuice.com but they are in the states:

it appears that you could do the install yourself but they discourage you from doing that since it's hard to open an iphone and close it up with you being able to tell what you did.

i'd suggest letting someone else take the risk and just sendit to them.
