Default Can't add songs to iTunes

    hey there,

I've tried adding songs to my iTunes library but it just wont simply do it, I already have most of my songs on my library, but for a lot of music it just wont accept it adding music files. I've tried uninstalling it and installing again but i cant find the solution as to why itunes wont pick up my music?

What ways are you trying to add your music? And are you on windows or mac?

And basically, it should be as simple as going to "File > Add to Library".

With mac you can simply drag and drop into the iTunes application window and it will import it.
Also, i highly recommend that you select "keep my iTunes library organised" when you install (otherwise you can do this in the "Advanced" tab in the iTunes preferences pane)

also "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to library"

However with the settings just mentioned, keep in mind you will have duplicates of files so if you're fussy about space, make sure you delete one or the other.

Are they in the right format?

iTunes doesn't take WMA files, if that helps.

    thanks guy,

I selected "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to library" in the preference pane . And I also made sure that the music files i'm adding are MP3. But i'm still having no luck, and i'm running a Windows Vista PC

Where are the files of your music library located? If it's located on a network drive and that isn't connected it could cause this problem.

all my music has been added from HD to the Itunes library. Until I tried adding another album into iTunes, it would only allow some of the songs from that album into the library. the format is the same
