Default Best Hardshell case for iPhone 3G

Has anyone gotten a Countour Flick case yet? It looks similar to the InCase Slider. Apple Store (U.S.) - Contour Flick for iPhone 3G (Black)

I really want the new InCase Slider because I loved the first gen one, but they say they won't be out till August, so any reviews of this case yet?

I should be receiving my Griffin Wave case tonight, will let you know how it goes. I picked this because it has a rigid screen protector built-in.

Yeah, saw these at the Sydney Apple Store. They have them there for $54.95. A bit steep for what you get.

that looks like a nice case, but the price sucks.

I saw a crystal case at vodafone for 14.95, not sure how good it is but it didn't seem to shabby.

hard cases in my opinion are all bad, not because they make the device more bulky but because of two reasons:
    a) dust and grit gets trapped behind the case and when u handle the phone the case will slightly move.. only very slightly but overtime you get a lot of scratches on the back because its constantly rubbing... only my experience with a macbook and iphone 1G case..

I have a bodyguardz protector on the front and carry my phone around in a Oakley sunglasses pouch.. perfect size...

    b) i cant remember :P

InCase is a really great company. They make a quality product. The old slider had rubber rails on the inside to prevent dust and dirt from scratching the phone. They do recommend you to clean them every now and again.

I was considering just an InvisibleShield, but what if I accidentally drop it? I'd rather have that extra protection on the outside and little bit of bulk than a ruined phone. All the silicone cases just get stuck in my pocket when I try to take them out.

    Thanks for the info guys

I'm personally waiting for the Griffin Elan Form to make its way to Aus. Looks pretty nice and heard good things. Not sure if you can use it without the front screen shield, though. Anyone know?

I agree. I would prefer a pouch style. bought a cheapie Belkin in the interim.

Looking to get Sena ultraslim, BOA, AEVOE, or Fabrix case/pouches down the track

Okay, I just got home - put my white iPhone in the above black Griffin Wave case - as the black case is translucent, my iPhone now looks silver/ gray - quite nice actually.

I put my wife's white iPhone into a pink Griffin Wave case - she now has a matching pink iPhone with her white Macbook in pink crystal case. She's one happy lady.

The Griffin Wave case is actually quite a good case - it has a firm screen protector on the front, that makes me feel more secure regarding the screen being scratched. There's no movement at all, as the case holds the iPhone firmly but not too tightly. It does add some slight bulk, but for the sake of protection, I'm happy with that. All in all, very pleased with it.

I had something similar to that for the first gen iPhone. It added a lot of bulk to it and the screen was horrible on it. It didn't fit snug on the screen so whenever you pressed the screen it stuck like a protector, but then popped off. Hopefully they fixed this in the 3G version.

Well I'm using the Nu Form (pretty much the same as the Elan Form) and if you don't have the screen protector in there is a bit of flex around the edges of the case which may (not to sure) scratch up the chrome. But I will say the screen protector is rubbish, it only half sticks to the screen, but if you swap the sides over so the static side is face up and the normal side is face down it is pretty good. As a whole I find mine great!!!!

I bought this Switcheasy's Capsule Rebel
It's pretty cool (a mixture of hard silicon and plastic)
Keeps the handset pretty thin too, all ports and buttons are accessible

Thanks for that info. I was eyeing the Nu Form as well. But I really don't want to use the hard screen protector on either the Nu Form or the Elan Form because I already have a Power Support Anti-Glare Film on there which does the job (and does it well). I might wait 'til these cases come to Aus so I can have a good look at them first.

Did you order the Capsule Rebel from the website, or did you find somewhere in Australia that stocks them?

Edit: just read on the site "Currently available for U.S and Canadian Residents Only" so I guess that answers the first question. So second question, where did you get yours from?

I finally got around to buying a silicone case for my iphone today, and I hate it already!

The iPhone itself just feels so, "Right" in your hand.

Well I reckon if you've got a screen protector on the device there shouldn't be to much flex, but I'm going to get a screen protector for mine (the hard one keeps getting stuff underneath it) and see how it goes, I'll let you know if it works. But i just got the Nu Form at my local mac shop and the fellow said they would be getting in heaps of different cases from the U.S.A in the next week or two so shouldn't be to much longer before they hit most stores.
