The clock is set and adjusted by your computer when you connect to iTunes.
My computer regularly checks on the internet to keep proper time. My iPod Touch and iPhone keeps proper time when connecting to the computer. It is not done over the cell network.
EDIT: I stand corrected. I just set my computer to manual and adjusted to some off time.
My iPod Touch readjusted to match the computer, but the iPhone did not. So the iPhone must be controlled by the provider.
Blame Optus, Voda or Telstra or whoever you are wtih.
Mate I am happy that it is controlled by Optus and that is what happens on 90% of phones the carrier controls the time. What I want to know is is anyone else noticing if it is happening to them am I alone is it because of my area I live and work in, is it my settings (which are now turned to manual), is it the firmware I have the latest secret build or is it because I am unlucky today? what could be the cause?
Note currently my car keys are having a free train ride on connex please kind melbourne poeple if you find them please return them - I am an idiot for loosing them as they were the spare keys!!

I think the time may be set by network/GPS because I travelled interstate yesterday and my iPhone automatically changed to Perth time :-)
Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically = off.
