Hi not entirely sure if this is an iPhone problem or a Virgin problem, but here goes.
I upgraded my 3GS to a 4S through Virgin last week. Since I got the new phone I am now having problems where every now and then (a few times a day, but the times are random) my network will just cut and not send/receive any phone calls or text messages or use any data. The network bar indicator don't change and the only way I know its happened is if I try to send a text message/make a phone call and it won't go through despite having 4 bars of reception or if I'm expecting someone to call/text me and it hasn't come through yet. Restarting the phone solves the problem for a few hours (I then get a bunch of messages come through) until it stops again. When I called Virgin earlier in the week, they said it wasn't their problem and now being the weekend there is no one to talk to.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem and is it a phone problem or a network problem?
(I'm on call at the hospital over the weekend, so really can't afford for phone calls to be not coming through!!)
This seemed to be my issue. When the SIM pin was on my network would drop out and would only work properly without a SIM pin on. I got a new SIM card and since then I haven't had any issues and I now have my SIM pin on.
