    Default iPhone 4S Vibration

    Hi,

    Has anyone compared the vibration on their iPhone 4S to the iPhone 4? The one on my iPhone 4S sounds weird, like something is loose. I've seen similar issues brought up in other forums as well.

    mine doesn’t sound like there is anything loose, but it is a lot louder than the previous one (which is good for me as my hearing isn’t the greatest)

    I believe they changed the vibration mechanism slightly from the iPhone 4. That might explain the difference.

    Yeah, it's definitely different according to iFixit. It doesn't feel as finessed as the one in iPhone 4 though.

    The point of the new mechanism is that it's quieter. The whole point of vibrate is to alert you to a phone call without making a noise. The 4S does a better job of that now.

    I always thought the iPhone 4 vibrate was too weak. I've missed plenty of calls because of that. I'd hate the 4S' vibrator to be weaker, please tell me it isn't.

    Got it replaced at the Applestore. Much better now. That buzzing was driving me nuts.

    Seems like my 4S vibrates "louder" and "harder" than my previous 4.
