    Default JailbreakMe 3.0 released

The long anticipated JailbreakMe 3.0 has been released by comex. Find it at this link. It supports the following devices and firmwares:

    - iPad 1: 4.3 through 4.3.3
    - iPad 2: 4.3.3
    - iPhone 3GS: 4.3 through 4.3.3
    - iPhone 4: 4.3 through 4.3.3
    - iPhone 4 Verizon: 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
    - iPod Touch 3rd gen: 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
    - iPod Touch 4th gen: 4.3 through 4.3.3

Shame it doesn't support iOS 5 and probably never will since it'll be patched by then. Pretty much my only reason to jailbreak now is to get rid of that annoying lock screen on the iPad 2 but I guess I'd rather stay clean then bother going through the hoops for it.
    :P

    Interesting...

I was JB'd for a while, but the upgrade bug is just too great and I ditched it the day an iOS upgrade was released, which of course I am likely to do the day iOS 5 comes out :P

About the only thing I want is the 3G unrestricter these days, even on 4.3.3.

I think the hassle of jailbreaking and what it delivers these days offer the native iOS functionality just isn't worth it.

It was a different story back in 2007!

One thing I'm missing (after switching from BB) is the ability to set sound profiles on the iPhone. I know there are JB apps that can do it but unfortunately if I JB the phone I'm informed that the McAfee corporate security app installed as part of the access to corporate emails etc picks it up and stops the email access. Have not tried it and wont as I need the unit for work.

Spot on mate, I think Apple learnt that instead of trying to keep patching the jailbreaks, they should add functionality instead so people won't find a need for it.

One of the key reasons for jailbreak was as a road to an unlock, but as Apple is now selling unlocked phones in the US (the prime users of the JB Unlock) I have a feeling that eventually jailbreaking will go the way of the dodo.

I was jailbroken until I started trying out ios5 and honestly i'm not really missing it at all.

it would be nice to have the 5 button dock option. but i agree; there are less and less reasons to jailbreak these days.

Eeek! I was about to try iOS5. I've been JB for so long I forgot my 5 icon dock wasn't standard. OK apps - one of you will have to go.

does this JB allow you to also 'unlock' an iphone 4 on 4.3.3?

Currently i'm only jailbroken for LockInfo which is soon to be replaced by iOS 5's built in notifications thing. Just waiting for a stable iOS 5 beta before installing it.

Doubt it. App piracy is pretty big and as far as I know requires a jailbreak. Then again ios isnt my strong point (yet)

Yes, it is the only way of pirating apps. But i'd rather buy my apps legally.

I haven't jailbroken since iOS4, but now I no longer have an iPhone 4, might do it again for mywi which was made redundant on iphone 4 but is not, on the 3GS. Don't need/want it for anything else.

Worked on my iphone 3GS but failed on my iPad1. No matter, dont really need it on that.

Not quite sure what you mean by "killed my wifi", MyWi works fine on my 3GS, early on, with one version upgrade, I had to uninstall, the reinstall, but there are "official" apps that are flaky as well.

On a positive note, successfully ran Jailbreakme on my iPad v1, and have installed Tabs+ so now I can have more than 9 tabs open for Safari, not that I usually run with more than 9, but it is good when I have 9 currently open, and you tap a link that spawns another tab, you don't lose one of your current tabs.

My iphone would no longer access my home router. It could get an IP but not actually do anything with it. ie, apps needing internet access could only get it via 3G.

Anyway, it doesnt matter, I've decided to drop the jailbreak stuff. I needed it with the first iPhone, but everything since then has been jam and cream and I have enough of that from the app store.
