Hardware that goes with your Mac, like external HDDs, TV tuners, HTPCs, monitors and other accessories. Includes AppleTV, AirPort and Time Capsule.
Also, you will find that a lot of the latest releases are available through Netflix as 'Disc Only'. For $8 a month, I'm not complaining.
i want to use my shipitto address also for netflix, but in netflix what do i put in for billing zip code for my payment information. any help would be great
your address should have a zip code.
just use that one.
either that or create another address. its not like you can get dvds shipped to you anyhow.
Is anyone else findin the load times a lot longer compared to using Netflix on the desktop?
The Appletv takes around 45 seconds (probably more) and the computer takes about 15 secs to load.

Hi guys, thanks to Steeley for starting this awesome post.
I've set Netflix up on my AppleTV and iPad, but can't seem to get it to work on my iMac.
I keep getting the "unable to play in this region" message.
I've changed the DNS settings on the Mac and AEBS but keep getting the message. Anyone know why this would be?

Have you tried restarting the iMac?
Kushti
Yes, turned off everything, modem, router, imac...
Strange that it works for everything else...

Update: I thought I would try it on another browser (Chrome) and it worked. Not sure why Safari won't play it.

I found I had to do that too to re connect to Usvideo. Sometimes it's a bit dodgy but it's worth every penny!!
It's about time the stupid movie companies allowed it here although I think foxtel would have something to say about that!!

Firstly - thank you SO much for this thread. You're legends! But I do have one little problem...
My Apply TV keeps playing up with NetFlix in that on occassion it gives me the 'you're not in the right region' problem.
I've set the DNS correctly on the ATV, it's also on my laptop and Ipad (no problems with the latter two). The DNS has not been changed on my router. I do log onto my laptop/ipad and confirm my account/DNS (at USVideo) is still active and check netflix works on those devices - no problem. Anyone know what the deal with the ATV is? Even after I check that the DNS is ok ATV still doesn't work. I've set the ATV to sleep, turned it back on, unplugged the power and network cable - still nothing.
Any ideas?
Is the Apple TV store set to US instead of AU?
Yep it's set to US - it actually works 85% of the time - then for some reason it does what I described above...
My unit started doing the same thing last night, not sure what went wrong!
Still no probs with mine fingers crossed.
Thanks to Steeley for the instructions. Worked perfectly for me. I've also set up my PS3 in the same way, using USvideo's DNS in the network settings, and downloading the Netflix 'app' from the US PSN Store (yes, you'll have to set up a US PSN account, in the same way you'd set up a US iTunes account, to access the region-specific store). One thing of interest is that on the PS3, some HD movies/shows have Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks, while Netflix on the AppleTV is stereo only even for HD streams. On the other hand, picture quality on the AppleTV seems to be better than on the PS3 despite being on the same ADSL(1) connection.
We had the not in the right region thing again last night, yet to check again this morning, on both Apple TV's no settings were changed, and still works fine on the Mac. Go figure lol

Hi landog- on the weekend when this occurred I eventually send the DNS settings at the router rather than the device. It seemed to have fixed the problem - but I think it was merely a fluke - as it happened again last night.
Tried the usual tricks:
- turn router on/off
- log out/in of netflix
- turn power off of ATV
- all other Netflix devices continue to work fine (iPad/laptop)
I woke up this morning - it's working again. Any ideas?
Strange, worst I've had is a "Netflix is currently unavailable" message which lasted about a day, but nothing since - just smooth sailing. I wonder if they're cottoning on to the dns stuff?
