    Default How to watch movies on macbook via TV screen?

    Sorry if this has been asked 100s of times before.

    What do I need to be able to watch movies stored on my macbook on my TV? And where do I get it?

    I can plug my macbook into my stereo for sound, so that is covered. But I'd like to be able to watch video on the bigger screen offered by my TV.

    Cheers

    What sort of TV do you have? What inputs? Apple offer an Svideo adaptor if you TV supports that. If you've got a recent TV it'll have HDMI and you can get an adaptor for the Mini-DVI on your MacBook. The latter is the better solution

    It's several years old now... Here are some specs I googled.

    TX-29FJ50A
    Panasonic 68cm (27”) flat screen stereo TV
    * Black level expander
    * Stereo sound
    * Front wing speakers
    * 16W (8W x 2)
    * DVD (component video) input
    * Child lock
    * Teletext
    * Dimensions: H 637mm x W 887mm x D 711mm

    I think it has an Svideo input, so I will check out the adaptor. Thanks.

    all you need is a minidvi-svhs adapter, and the video cables, I would also get sound cable as the speakers on the macbook are crappy and you set to go
