    Default Recommendation for external display.

I have my trusty MBP 15" hooked up to an 24" 1080p external monitor at the moment. It's OK, but is there something new/improved/better out there at the moment without spending thousands?

On my researching looking for a new monitor - I found this which looks pretty cool especially for the price range. Its a new 3D monitor (aside my issues with Samsung whitegoods breaking...) it looks pretty good. The design is sexy and the features look great like the any angle viewing, motion sensing (I hope you can turn this off for watching movies?) They also look to be building sustainability into them with their energy usage.

That monitor is really nice looking. An unusual design from the usual monitor form. Would it connect to 2011 iMac with Thunderbolt? Hmm...

For that price you almost have a new iMac which can be used as a monitor!

You could almost have a new iMac - but would it be 3D? I dont rate 3D myself...but some people love it.

Isn't thurderbolt Apple-only technology? And with Samsung/Apple constantly taking each other to court... wouldn't this be a bad move?

So how would you use it with a Mac which doesn't have 3D?

3D as it currently stands is a wank anyway.

No. Which has been stated ad nauseum everywhere.

I don't think either would exclude the other, when there is money to be made. Anyways if Samsung is to support PCs that includes Macs. It is just a monitor.
