    Default New Macbook Release?

Okay, so I'm sick of waiting for new Macbooks. I'd just buy a refurb 2.4ghz white right now but I figure I'm better off waiting for the new ones. If they don't impress or aren't that much better I will probably just go the refurb anyway, as they've really grown on me.

In the meantime, let's speculate about October the 14th and what may happen.

Do we really need yet another rumor- or speculation-based thread on this tired topic?

Theres not going to be any big song and dance number like the lets rock event. All that will happen is the store will go down, and the new macs will be added and thats it.

Same as mitty here. I was quite tempted to buy a 2.4 White, or 2.4 MBP but I'm holding out.

    I voted for #2.

Why would Apple not have a special event (or use MacWorld) to announce new MacBook's? If the rumors are true it's going to be a huge overhaul (cosmetically) so I don't know why Apple wouldn't want to be in the spotlight telling everybody.

Hopefully there is an event announced next week.

Why so they can go look new macbook casing. The only reason they had the lets rock event was to show that steve was not dead.

The reason they had a special event was to unveil the new iPods + iTunes 8, like every other year.

    This is what I think:

    1. MacBook will be killed and MacBook Pro will drop to its price.
    2. MacBook Air will gain a 120GB HHD, 3GB RAM, 2GHz Processor, 2 USB ports and a FireWire 400 port

Also featured at the grand unveiling will be Microsoft's new "iDeath".

    Basic Edition (AU$247.67)
    • Windows movie maker
    • Paint (Only Black, White and Gray included)
    • Windows media player
    • Windows explorer *Whimpers* Please not windows explorer, the crashes, the crashes

    Ultimate Edition (AU$586.13)
    • Windows movie maker
    • Paint (Only Black, White and Gray included)
    • Windows media player
    • Windows explorer
    • Notepad

Also included with each edition is all 895,678,176,568,989 fully tested crashes straight from Windows Vista.
