Sorry guys double post by mistake (forgot the Orange Sofa doesn't appear in the Recent Topics).
Can the thread be moved into one that will?
Think it is about time that I got myself a US address, so looking at the freight forwarding companies.
Who does everyone use and is there one you would say don't ever use?
Cheers
Shaun

Your other thread has been dealt with. We'll just use this one now...
I've got a vested interest in AGS - it was founded, and is owned by a relative, however from what I know, your iPod/Mac has been handled by them before getting to TNT. I've not moved anything through them, but they are big in the USA.
Good luck, but why do you want a US postal address in the first place?
This is an email virus for Mac OS X. It works on the honor system. Please start deleting random files on your system and forward this message to everyone in your address book.
Sounds like he wants to import from the US or sell in the US?
Of course I may be only assuming.. incorrectly
why are you reading this?
Want to buy in the US. Whilst some electronic stuff, also some sporting gear and wired magazine. lot cheaper to subscribe there and then get the issues combined with orders from say Amazon, who have free shipping in the US and any other stuff you have bought that month.
Well at least that is the theory, more interested on if others have used it found it cheaper and worthwhile. The monthly cost is the bit I am not sure of. At Whirlpool they have suggested myUS.

Ok have now signed up with myUS so will post up how the first order goes with them and how the service is.
One interesting service they offer, is that if you need something from a site (such as Apple.com who require a US based Credit Card), they will purchase it for you with their US credit card for a US$10 fee and then charge your credit card the purchase price plus the Fee).

I bought some snowboarding gear via shopanyamericanstore.com. They will order the goods for you so you can get items that the online stores won't ship outside of the US.
I recommend US Global mail (www.usglobalmail.com). The owners are very accomodating, I have been with them for over a year now. Their response time is excellent(within 24 hours) and they bend over backwards to get shipping costs down.
Don't these companies require a monthly or yearly fee to use their services like a sort of sign on fee as well as another fee per transaction like the 10% mentioned above ?

I've read good things about this company too -- and their website has a certain clarity which is reassuring, I find. I've been using a service called Tiedupwithstring, but it's a one-person show and she's closing it down (at the end of this month), so I'll move over to usglobalmail.

Hey guys,
I've looked into this topic quite a bit, coz i was frustrated with all the u.s. companies not wanting to ship internationally.
The best one that I found that doesn't charge yearly fees, and has only a small charge per order is www.worldpurchases.com I recommend these guys.
I've order a few electronic items and designer clothes from them, and they have a neat order form so I can list all my www items.
Hi James,
I've only used them to get items from Amazon and Abercrombie. But I don't see why they wouldn't buy from the apple store. Let me know if they do.
I normally get items in 2 weeks
