Default Can my PS3 play Region A Blu-Rays?

There are some Blu-Rays i want to buy online but they appear only to be available in Region A (American) - Does anyone know if the PS3 will play all region Blu-Rays? or will it only play Region B discs?

if Not, does anyone know any nifty little hacks to make the PS3 play all region movies?

Im pretty certain that the Australian PS3 is region locked and no hacks come to mind.

The site that I have used to check on international Blurays like from Amazon is
    Blu-Ray Region Code Info

Although some Blurays say only region A, they are actually unlocked and play internationally. Take a look.

    Cheers

hmm, ok, thanks for the list.
unfortunately the titles i want are locked to region A.

i was really hoping to not have to buy a separate Blu-Ray player just to play a few movies!

i hate that.. in 2011.. WHY do movie regions still exist? it's SO Annoying!

Yep, I was in this dilemma also until recently.

I ended up just buying a KOGAN Blu-ray player (region free). I wanted to upgrade my Criterion Collection DVDs to Blu-ray and this was the only way to get around my PS3 not playing Region A movies. I bought the player from the KOGAN eBay store for $70 (rather than the $120 on their official store website).
