Well, its one week on and we’ve got some fierce Mos under construction! First of all I’d like to thank everybody who’s already put their lips on the line and taken part, or simply donated. The MacTalk team has raised a whopping $780 in just one week!

Just a quick reminder why this month is so important:
Prostate cancer is just as prevalent in men as breast cancer in women, yet sadly it isn’t afforded nearly the same position in society’s consciousness. 3,000 men die each year in Australia as a result of prostate cancer.

Depression in men is often stigmatised within our macho-istic, patriarchal society where the line is generally “big boys don’t cry”. One in eight men will experience depression in their lifetime. Although suicide as a result of depression is attempted more often in women, men are more likely to succeed.
