Lots and lots of stuff on the web about the iPhone OS 3.0. 9 to 5 Mac found some videos on YouTube demonstrating iPhone OS 3.0’s features. AppleInsider have some screenshots of iPhone OS 3.0. Apple has uploaded the 3.0 keynote to their podcast feed, so if you wanna watch it (and it’s pretty cool if you’re interested in knowing what some of these features actually mean and seeing 3rd party app demos), grab it now from iTunes.
No doubt you’ve seen the furore over Apple’s mystery chip placed in the headphones of the new iPod Shuffle. It’s been a bit confusing, but all you need to read is Boing Boing Gadget’s analysis of the chip, what it does, why it’s in there, Apple’s response to their comments and a bunch of links to other sites who go into other details. In short, it doesn’t seem like DRM (ie: nothing is encrypted), but it is still quite odd as to it’s actual purpose in the headphones.

ZD Net has a piece on Telstra’s stance on the iPhone and generally stating the question, “Can Telstra ever be a Mac?” – Telstra are far too up themselves and moronic to ever achieve what Apple has done.
Someone has figured out how to flash a “PC” Radeon 4870 to work in a Mac Pro, so you don’t need to buy the more expensive Mac version. I wouldn’t recommend it to those who aren’t hardcore geeks and like having a warranty, but if you’re keen to save a bit of cash and can figure out how to do it from the sparse instructions, good luck to ya! In the same vein, you can overclock the GMA950 video card in your MacBook for a little bit more oomph in exchange for less battery life and more fan noise.
Apple’s website is pretty awesome, for such a big website, it’s so easy to use. Go look at HP’s website for example. Yuck. Spoonfed Design looked into why it Apple’s site is so great and wrote a blog post for us to read and to soak in the awesomeness. Also on web design, Upstart Blogger shows us how to use iWeb as a site design mock up tool.
