I just came back from a brief visit to the UK to see family, but I attempted to be a tourist and so visited a few places.

I just bought my first DSLR, a Canon 1100D. A local Harvey Norman was closing down and I snapped it up for $400. I am just learning how to use it at the moment, here are a few of my amateur shots.

Yes, that is a VW beetle in the background.

Contented Tom, recovering from another bout of illness. Here, he's in his bed, which is on top of a set of drawers next to my desk, and from which he can survey the outside world if he wishes. Fujifilm X100

    True.

What I like about this shot is the bleakness; isolation among others (the modern world?). This was happening a bit to the right at the same time. Bit of a contrast.

Did another timelapse today. I had done one last night using AV mode but that obviously came out poor considering it was between 7:30 and 8:30. I went back tonight to do it in manual mode. Came out better.

Really smooth time lapse. What was your shot timing for that?

Cheers, 2 second shutter speed every 2 seconds. I wanted to get the blur of the people and I think anything longer would have wiped them out.
