Default Converting .dwg and .cdr files to .ai

    Hey guys,

I'm running Illustrator CS, and I always seem to run up against the problem of converting files.

I have a work around, but it's bloody annoying and I think it's time I found something on the Mac to do this.

Does the latest version of CS do the job, or is there another piece of software that'll do the trick.

    Whats the work around?

Just a thought . . . . have you tried looking at maybe writing an Applescript or using Automator for the job?

    Default Which version of Illustrator?

Go to bottom of this post.

    From here:

"Adobe Illustrator supports DWG import if the DWG is saved in AutoCAD 2002 DWG format. So using AutoCAD 2006 (or one of our newer AutoCADs), you may need to do a "Save As" and select "AutoCAD 2000/LT 2000 DWG format." You would then copy this file to the Mac and import it into Adobe Illustrator."
