As someone who prefers Safari to Firefox, one of the things that has frustrated me is the inability to run Greasemonkey scripts on Safari.
I was recently reminded of this when trying to find ways to block ads in FaceBook and also skin FB,
then i stumbled across a way to install Greasemonkey scripts on Safari!
All you need is SIMBL and GreaseKit. (if you have Safari Stand installed you will already have SIMBL installed.)
First download and install SIMBL from HERE
Just run the installer and it will do its trick, it does install in the /~ by default, rather than your user library.
Now download GreaseScript, HERE
To install it, drag the GreaseKit.bundle file to ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins
{if you don’t have a SIMBL/Plugins/ folder, create it, then drop GreaseKit.bundle into it.)
and drag it here,
restart Safari and you should see "GreaseKit" in the menu bar,
Find a script you want to install, i used the FB adblock one, HERE more can be found HERE
and then follow the prompt to install,
when you click on GreaseKit and manage scripts this is what you should see, click 'add' to complete.
refresh the page you are expecting the script to run on and it should all work!
enjoy!
This is gold! Good find Galumay.
whackooooo... I can finally dump firefox
Doesnt seem like whirlpool,plus works![]()
unfortunately a lot of scripts don't work in safari... hoping that will change soon
