command + click/drag it off?
Sorry ot create a thread for this simple little question, but I have looked everywhere.
How do I remove a icon (log me in) form the task bar?
I have removed it from the startup but it won't disappear.
command + click/drag it off?
If you are using the latest version of LogMeIn, then you will find an uninstaller program by navigating to Applications -> LogMeIn. Running the LogMeIn Uninstaller program will prompt you for your Mac username and password and then remove the LogMeIn software from your computer.
If you are using an older version of LogMeIn, then only a basic uninstaller is available. This can be reached by navigating to "/Library/Application Support/LogMeIn/" and running "uninstaller.command". This will open a terminal window and prompt for your Mac username and password. Once this is submitted, the LogMeIn software will be uninstalled from the Mac computer.

But he doesn't want to uninstall?
To remove icons not in use in task bar in OSX, do the following:
Open Activity Monitor.
Click Memory tab and look for the program of the icon you want to remove from task bar.
Click on program, then click "Quit Process" at the top.
This will remove the icon from the task bar at the top right part of OSX screen
I am having the same issue with a Little Snitch trial that I downloaded and subsequently deleted using AppCleaner (which is supposed to trace down every file relating to the application and delete it) but the icon is still appearing in my toolbar. @ Mahmac: I tried your method with the Activity Monitor and was ecstatic when the icon disappeared... but a few seconds later it reappeared. No matter how many times I clicked "Quit Process" it kept popping up again. And remember, the program is supposedly not even on my computer anymore... any ideas for how to get rid of it? Also know that before I downloaded Little Snitch, I did some research and asked friends about it to make sure it was reputable and wouldn't have spyware, so I don't think that's the problem. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks
You can also delete applications by double-clicking on your Macintosh HD icon -> double-clicking on the Applications folder -> looking down the list for whatever application you don't want and then dragging down to the Trash on the far right of your Dock and then clicking on top-left menu item: Finder and scrolling down to: Empty Trash.
To search for its bits if it isn't in the Applications folder, on your Desktop, click once on top-left menu item: File and scroll down to: Find.
In the New Search window, type: Little Snitch and and every instance of Little Snitch should appear in the list below.
To Trash each bit, click on each bit once to highlight it and then hit the key and the delete key, and it will be transferred to the Trash automatically.

Well the thing is I already deleted the application... I used AppCleaner, which is supposed to find every trace of the program and delete it... I've used Spotlight to check if anything remains and I haven't found any files relating to Little Snitch. I also empty my Trash routinely so I know there aren't any files left in that. And yet every time I reboot my computer, the application starts running the trial again and I can't make it go away. There's nothing on my HD that I can find that has anything to do with Little Snitch and yet it's still running. It's as if it left a ghost behind or something.
Okay - click on your Apple menu and scroll down to System Preferences...
In the System Preferences window, click once: Accounts - (the icon with two heads).
In the Accounts window, on the top-right, click once on the tab marked: Login Items.
Can you see Little Snitch in the list below?
If so, it means it's still on board.
If you really want to say goodbye to it forever though, I think the original download might come with its own Uninstaller - thus the next thing to try would be to download it again, install it and then open your Applications folder in Macintosh HD, locate the Little Snitch folder and then double-click on its Uninstaller - which - unlike AppCleaner, was specifically made to delete Little Snitch.
After running its Uninstaller and following all instructions, it should be gone forever.
I had already tried Login Items and Little Snitch wasn't on there... but I just tried reuploading the application and then uninstalling it and that seemed to work. Thank you for your help!
open the logmein app from the applications folder. Click "about" logmein. Click the "uninstall" button. restart.
I needed it installed, but didn't want the icon at the top of the menu bar. So, since I don't need the menubar up there, logmein has written it as an app, therefore I just navigated to /Library/Application Support/LogMeIn/bin/ and I renamed logmeinmenubar.app to logmeinmenubar.app.old and now it doesn't load, and it disappeared from the top. Everything that I need to do or the settings I need to change, I can do from the websites main page. If I need the menubar app on the local mac, then I will just rename it and get rid of the .old until I am done, then change it back. I have rebooted several times, and pushed the system in many different ways, and by renaming the app, it doesn't affect anything that I can find. Hope this helps some people. Also, I don't want the employees finding the folder where this is, so if this location is not a hidden location, then I will just rename one of the parent folders with a dot in front. You have to do that with the terminal app I am pretty sure, but if anyone has problems doing that, then just google how to change the name of a folder to a hidden folder. You add a dot in front, then turn off "show hidden files" using a command line. That is not what this topic is about, so enough of that.
hope this helps
