Default G5 Power Mac Logic Board

Hi all. Im new to MacTalk. Enjoying reading what people have to say.

I found out that other day that the reason my June 2004 G5 PowerMac Dual 2GB died on me wasnt b/c the power supply was stuffed... it was b/c my logic board has died. Apple quoted me about 800 to replace the board. As much as i would love to, i cant justify spending that much money on a 5 year old machine, although it would be a shame to not fix it as the machine is still more than what i need.

    so my question:

Does anybody have, or know where i can source a logic board for my machine on a budget? Do you have one lying around at home that we could discuss.

    Any sugestions welcome.

    Thanks,

    Pishtols

Mine died recently too (Logic Board), so I feel your pain. I'm using it as a reason to get a new Mac and will put the remains of the G5 on Ebay at some stage.

Hope you find a solution that suits.

I know, i am considering this as a push to go to a Mac Pro. Although itis a shame as the G5 suits my needs so much... oh, decisions decisions.... (even more annoying as my apple care protection ran out only 6 months ago... :S )

    Thanks for your reply.

I have purchased a Sawtooth MOBO from these people and have no complaints.
Give them a try. Price was reasonable. I think I paid about $25 plus postage.

Duh - just realized it has already been posted. Sorry 'bout that. Can only say, it was a good solution when others (eBay etc) were colossal prices.
