Default Loading my own cd's and covers to Ipod Nano

Hello, I'm new here and have just bought a refurbished iPod Nano 8gb from Apple store(says previous generation). I will be getting it tomorrow and want to know how to load all my cds with covers onto it. I'm leaving to work interstate in 2 days and don't want to take 200 cds with me. I figure I will have to individually load all my cds to my harddrive and transfer them to the Ipod but I'm a bit confused on how to do my album covers. Would It be easier to use my scanner to scan the cover and resize it or download the image from the net? I know it's a bit strange asking these questions before I actually get the Ipod but I have limited time and need to get started on it tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated..... Cheers

Probably easier to download the image, or use an app like CoverScout to do it all for you.

thanks for the quick reply I think I will need sites like that as I don't listen to pop music and itunes doesn't have much of my music by the look of it. Is it possible to take a photo of the album cover with the Ipod itself or would that look crap?

Get iTunes NOW from Apple and start ripping your Cd's before the iPod arrives. If you open up an iTunes Music Store account via the iTunes application that when all the Cd's are converted into iTunes you can select under the Advanced Menu to get Album Art Work.

200 Cd's or so would be a few hours work converting over but at least you'll have them ready for the iPod that you just simply plug in and sync when it arrives. Unplug then enjoy

Just a side note too, if iTunes doesn't find every cover for you it's quicker and easier to just search Google images and copy and paste them rather then scanning. Also make sure you are connected to the net when you're inserting Cd's to be able to get track names rather then it saying Track 1, Track 2 etc and saves you manually writing them in. Actually, never tried it myself, if you were off line when you insert a Cd and later when you connect, you can select the Track 1, Track 2 and iTunes is smart enough to know what the tracks are and still find the names, pretty cool...

Thanks for all your help. Was a great idea to preload them all. Have loaded up 120cds with covers so far and my new iPod should be here any minute. Managed to find a great site that has all of my album covers (albumart.org). One last question, roughly how long does it take to transfer an average size album(500mb) from pc to iPod?
