    Default How to buy from US iTunes

    There's a new Bruce Springsteen album out in the US. It's available on US iTunes but not Australia yet.

    I use an Australian ("Sorry, Steve, there are countries other than America.... Although Australia's Prime Minister and America's President are very "close".) email login for iTunes and I cannot access the US store with this.

    Seeing as you can buy other things from the US with Australian Creditcard, why not iTunes???

    Or (Can't help myself) is this yet another form of Apple, Abliest, Americanism?

    shoot me or help me: but it's a genuine question. I've bought CD from Germany, Holland, US...so why not iTunes?

    You need to buy a USD iTunes giftcard off ebay or other sites, and register a new iTunes account with a different email to the one you use for the AU store.

    I think it is just due to the license restrictions on the different music companies.
    BTW I think you will need to enter a US address
    so grab one off fakenamegenerator.com.

    also, if you create a US paypal account - linked to your Aust credit card, you can use that to make US iTS purchases (once you register with your US address as above)

    I don't think that works... I've tried it and it won't let me do it.

    The easiest way to get itunes gift card codes is to use http://www.itunesfairy.com/ who actually also sell the codes at a discount. I have my own itunes account with an old aol email address and because it gives you your own U.S. Apple Store account, you can then go and purchase itunes gift certificates direct from Apple using your own credit card.

    Itunes wont accept a foreign credit card, but Apple Store will . Also, I have tried various times linking my U.S. store account to my paypal, but it knows its an Aussie paypal and wont let me.

    But yeah, all my friends here in Aus have started using iTunes fairy and it works a treat. Just make up your own U.S. address and away you go .

    As for the florida tax thing, Im a bit confused ??. Ive had my iTunes account for a few years now and my address is a real deal address in SFO which is CA, and I have never ever paid tax on top of any itunes purchase.

    I just tried the paypal method and all I need now is the four digit confirmation for my credit card, will let you all know if I'm able to get the iTunes account working when I have that

    I would use any of these services.. but I will not use paypal.

    Is there any problem downloading songs bought from this second American account onto a computer that has songs purchased with an Australian appleID?

    As usual, this forum gives a mix of truth and fiction - must the the Apples draining your grey matter.

    After my partner bought a gift certificate, on your advice, i tried to sign up to purchase an album from US iTunes.

    Oh! Why am I not Surprised????????????? IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for nothing.

    If he were patient (and not mindlessly worshipping Apple) he would have read last night's and today's responses and not spent his money on useless, Apple-associated, products.

    I am accustomed to discrimination. He seeks soft advice to avoid reality.

    Ah, this is a "forum" which is based on peoples opinions. Nobody ever stated that what they were saying was gospel.
