I've heard of this before. Pretty dumb idea. Having iPods available in vending machine implies they have a short life span and you are likely to buy them often. Like a can of coke.

Dear Sony, Microsoft, the MPAA, the RIAA and Apple:
Let's make a deal. You stop trying to tell me where, when, and how I play my movies and music, and I won't crush your homes under my inexorably advancing wall of ice.

But then again there are those vending machines that have got mobile phones and computer games in them at places like the cinema, games arcades and airports and the like.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like an iTunes Music Store Vending Machine, with a univesal dock just plug in your iPod then pick which songs you want to add to it. Could even double as one of those 'Nightlife' style duke boxes that can play music videos for in pubs and the like, capable at playing anything on the iTMS - not just what is pre-loaded into the dukebox. Would obviously need a broadband internet connection - but those aren't that uncommon nowdays.

    Not a bad idea rockinrobstar!

Be very cool to be out in town and say. OH, I want to hear that new song. Download it at one of these machines and listen to it on the way home etc. Be popular I reckon.

I find it amazing that an $300 item can be bought in a vending machine. Are we becoming that wealthy and consumeristic society that we are willing to drop $300 in a vending machine, a machine which traditionally sells impulse items.

This is actually a good idea. If i ran an Apple Store, I'd just put one of these vending machines in. Would save time with customers being able to serve themselves instead of tying up staff. Stolen credit cards might be a problem though. I'd have to put a "You will be photographed using this machine" sign on it or have it only accept cash.

Even more disturbing is that it's used underwear.
