    Default 10.6.3 Freeze's and Crashes

    Hey Guys,
Since 10.6.3 ive had daily freezes and crashes on my work imac, and a handful of crashes on my mac-mini (home machine) too. Anyone else experiences freezes/crashes on 10.6.3 ?

Havent had any issues on 10.6.3 on either my 2.66GHz Mac Pro or either of my two Minis (Core 2 Duo 1.83Ghz and Core Duo 1.66GHz).
    Sorry to hear that Steve.

Does the freezing or crashing happen after a particular task or in a certain program?

I've been having quite a few issues with my Unibody MacBook since the update. It's crashed so many times and the heat is terrible! Right now, I am browsing the net but the CPU is at 85°. Should I take it to the Apple Store or wait for the next update?

typically when running quark 7 or MS Word it is more frequent, but it still happens just running indesign and photoshop.

I am getting a heap of mouse/keyboard lockouts with 10.6.3.

From what I gather, it seems to affect early 2008 MBP users.

It is annoying, to say the least

My iMac constantly freezes since updating to 10.6.3. Is anyone else also having this problem? It is an early 08 24" iMac.

Thousands of posts in the Apple Support Discussions about the problems with 10.6.3.

Expect an update that fixes the issues soon.

Dont expect Apple to admit there is a problem. ;P

Having a few problems here (17" MacBookPro2,1) with Safari crashing.

I noticed that there is a second version of 10.6.3 Combo Update out now - version 1.1 - which isn't appearing in Software Update. Sure I could download, reinstall and see if it resolves the problem, or delete and then reinstall Safari, but it's just easier to bitch about it on the forums...

Don't bother. I've already downloaded it and installed it over the top of the first 10.6.3 install that I did, and the computer is still freezing.

My old snowball Imac is freezing up all of a sudden and then an error message comes up in several languages saying You must restart your computer now. It keeps doing it no matter how many times I restart the computer from the power button. ??????

Unfortunately that is a kernel panic, and is likely a hardware problem.
Do you have your OS X install discs that you could boot off? If you still get kernel panics when booting off CD/DVD then it is definitely hardware.

Could be anything from a dodgy RAM stick or AirPort card, to needing a whole new mobo.

Add iPhoto to the list of programs that are defective after the 10.6.3 update.
