    Default What is the ajaxserver

I notice that in my Activity Viewer window that the ajaxserver is always redded out and saying 'not responding', I guess that it may have something to do with little snitch but I'm not sure.

It's been like this for as long as I can remember, should I attempt to fix it, or just leave it be.

Ajaxserver is part of Hotspot Shield. When Hotspot Shield isn't active Ajaxserver essentially goes to sleep and the OS reports it as not responding. It's normal behaviour.

OK that seems to make sense. One other question since hotspot shield has come up. When I connect to hss I can use FireFox but if I try to use Safari I get the rss2search page overlaid over the page in my url bar which is blued out. I have checked my IP with firefox and hss connected and it does appear to be setting a new address so I am wondering what the strange behaviour is in safari. Any clues?

doesn't sound all that normal to me.. every other app manages to have processes that are inactive without them appearing as "not responding"...

Go into Activity Monitor, click on the ajaxserver process, then hit the Quit Process button at the top.
